Songs of the Potato Famine and Immigration with Mary Garvey
12:30pm - 1:20pm (50 minutes)
Free!

Picture
Songs written about or even during the Potato Famine, which many of our ancestors endured.  Some well-known ones are Skibereen, Give Me One Grain of Corn, Mother, Praties they grow small, Fields of Athenry, Dan O'Hara.  I have also written several about my own family's involvement: Jack Moriarty, Dingle to Tralee, Young Nora Garvey.

Retired enthusiast of Irish, Scots and sea music.  Love music camps and song circles.  Hope to do more traveling soon and hear more in-person music.  Especially love groups of people singing.
